  • Chief Executive Officer

    Robert (Bob) Spence brings experience in strategy, sales and finance, including over 15 years of medical device experience, ranging from startup to multinational orthopaedic companies, spearheading a previous transition from advanced R&D startup to global leader.

  • Co-Founder, Board Chair

    Dr. Rick Hu, MD, FRCSC, is a spine surgeon and serial entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in both orthopaedic surgery and research. The SaaS health analytics company he founded and led since 2013, Vivametrica, was acquired in 2020.

Board Members

  • Brent King

    Brent has extensive orthopaedic and product development experience, at the startup and multinational levels, having been Director of Operations at Smith & Nephew and VP Operations at TENET Medical Engineering.

  • Carolyn Anglin

    Dr. Carolyn Anglin, Ph.D., has over 25 years of orthopaedics-related experience in industry and academia, including as a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Calgary. Tactile Orthopaedics originated in her lab.

  • Mike Read

    Mike is Vice President of Picante Capital Corp, a family investment office based in Calgary. He manages a broad range of public and private investments and has a keen interest in supporting the Calgary start-up ecosystem.

  • Dr. Ryan Martin

    Dr. Martin, MD, FRCSC, is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and trauma, at Foothills Hospital and Group23 Sports Medicine. He is Team Surgeon for the Calgary Stampeders Football Team, and is both our CMO and Primary Knee Design Surgeon.
